Photographer and CG-Artist for Game Models, Concept Sculpts and internet images, now having finally some time for commisions!
Hello and welcome to my page.
My name is Seth, a 22 years old photog and computer graphics artist (or CG-Artist for short). I am at the very beginning
point of learning, just two years so far, therefore my main aim right now is to train and improve my skills.
As for studying, I study 3D Game Design at SAE, therefore my main focus is on creating Game Assets,
if required also with textures
My main area in my free art, or "just fancy images for fun" section is creating Profile Images, Banners, Website
Backgrounds and such for people with a sense for copyright, who want their images to be their righteous property,
and not being stolen from random artists without their agreement. These images found in my gallery are done for myself
or are commissions for friends of mine so far, for forum accounts and roleplay characters.
Since 2013, my main activity shifted to photography. If you are within the North-East area of Germany and want a shooting, feel free to contact me.
My artistic paths in a timebased overview:
2009
==> Vue
I started using Vue some time ago, but really creating pictures started Autumn 2009.
Since then, I'm constantly learning how to use it... hoping that - some day - this program (recently Vue 8) does what
I want it to do =D (What it actually does..... after some calming talking to it to stop bitching around ;D)
2010
==> Daz
Using Daz started around August 2010 for real, after a short phase of testing... and since then I am trying and improving^^
My aim was and still is to improve my skills in texturing and lighting, before composing the image in Photoshop. I do
not see that aspect of my art as real 3D, but mainly as digital composing art. And I am proud of not being one of those
plastic-skin-artists...
Special thanks for this fact go out to Lost-Souls and Mavrosh, who both taught me how to really use the shaders in the programs.
==> 3DS Max
Since I began studying game design, I went into real 3D working, starting in 3DS Max. Some examples are already
uploaded in my gallery, more will follow as soon as I have time again for playing around.
2011
==> Maya
Animation, Particle SFX and some physical playing around, but so far nothing really worth to be uploaded in here....
I feel more comfortable in Max, but I continue to learn this software as well, for it has very powerful tools inside.
An own section in my gallery with samples will follow soon.
==> ZBrush
My favourite one, definitely. Nothing beats this program when it comes to creating nice 3D-models with over
60 Million polygons or more... which means mindblowing nonfaked details =D
2013
After a longer break from CG art - mostly due to personal issues that needed to be resolved - I went back to art in 2013. I started with photography, though, which meant the death to my CG activities. I am studying again since fall 2013, making my degree in Interactive Animation (specializing in Environment Art for games), but in the art range that I create and post, you will mostly find photos only.
Hardware:
I use a heavy duty working station for my CG stuff, regularly updated with new hardware.
For photography, I started with an old, used first generation EOS 5D from 2006. It served me well, and most of my published shots are done with that lady. Sadly, it decided to die on me beginning of this year. As I was already regularly covering gallery vernissages and concerts, I needed a worthy replacement. Things went smoothly and I was able to treat myself with the 5D III, which is what I currently use.
